The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 8-14-2024, their office received a deer poaching complaint and several reports of street signs, mailboxes and electrical boxes that were shot in the townships of Platte and Pulaski, in the Harding area north of Pierz, MN.
Morrison County deputies, along with a MN DNR officer, responded to the area and observed a deceased deer with a 12-gauge shotgun wound. The suspect(s) appeared to have shot the deer from the roadway. Additionally, several mailboxes, street signs and two separate electrical boxes were shot. Spent casings were located in multiple locations within Platte and Pulaski Township. The only detail available about the suspect vehicle is that was an older truck and notably loud.
According to Sheriff Shawn Larsen, these incidents are believed to be related and happened sometime during the early morning hours on 8-13-2024, between 12:30 am- 1:00 am and again on 8-14-2024 at approximately 4:00 am.
